There's been a lot of rumors over the years about playing as hidden characters in Super Smashing Fighters, not at ALL helped by the eventual discovery of the Gold Mousio costume after completing all the target practice minigames. But I do kind of miss the theories pre-Gold Mousio, y'know? After people knew he existed all the fake characters were just like... "Gold Young Hawk" or something. And since I've been reminiscing on those I remembered one of my very favorites, the idea that you could play as the final boss of the classic version of Super Smashing Fighters, the Eyes.

And you might not be ready to hear this, but it's true - it's actually possible. Some very technical SSF fans have discovered that by entering something the game will register as code in the custom name entry for a fighter, you can get it to register as and enter you into the stage as any non-playable fighter character. People found the fighter ID for the individual Super Polyglot Fighters, and even the Wild Chicken you fight in the Western stage... but never the Eyes. Until... someone decided to enter the fighter ID of '0'. And there it was... playable Eyes! It's amazing to see a rumor like that come true after all these years... even though... the Eyes can't actually move because of the way they're programmed. So they're just creepily staring at you the entire time. X)
